Have you ever said, “I’ve tried everything, and nothing works”?
If you’re a woman of color building a business, you’ve probably felt that frustration. You show up. You post. You launch. You tweak. You keep moving.
But what if the problem isn’t that you’re failing?
What if you haven’t actually been trying—at least not in the way that creates predictable business results?
That’s the bold truth: effort alone doesn’t create success. Intentional, measurable, coached experimentation does.
There are three types of entrepreneurs:
The difference isn’t talent.
It isn’t luck.
It isn’t having more followers.
The difference is how they try.
Many entrepreneurs confuse being busy with making progress. They’re working hard—but they’re driving to New York while hoping to end up in Los Angeles.
Movement alone doesn’t guarantee you’re headed in the right direction.
When something doesn’t work, most entrepreneurs make one of two conclusions:
You might think:
But those conclusions can cost you thousands of dollars if your experiment was never valid to begin with.
Before deciding something doesn’t work, ask yourself:
Did I actually test it the right way?
Real trying requires all three pieces.
Choose one business skill.
Maybe it’s:
Stay with that skill for an entire year instead of jumping from strategy to strategy every few weeks.
Long-term commitment removes the pressure of the calendar and gives mastery room to happen.
Feedback is your shortcut.
A coach can often identify in five minutes what might take you five months to figure out alone.
Weekly feedback keeps you from repeating the same mistakes and helps you course-correct before wasting valuable time.
Instead of guessing, you gain direction.
Doing the same thing repeatedly isn’t experimentation.
Testing is.
Try different:
Each experiment gives you more data.
More data leads to better decisions.
Better decisions lead to better results.
Many entrepreneurs start the clock too early.
“I’ve been trying for four years.”
But have you?
Or have you only spent the last three months consistently working one skill with coaching and intentional experimentation?
Your timeline begins when all three parts of the framework are happening together.
That’s when you’re collecting meaningful data.
One of the most freeing mindset shifts is this:
“I haven’t failed. I just haven’t truly started the experiment yet.”
That thought changes everything.
Instead of believing you’re the problem, you recognize you simply need better testing, stronger feedback, and more repetition.
The door stays open.
Every experiment teaches you something.
Every mistake gives you information.
Every adjustment moves you closer to the strategy that works.
Businesses aren’t built because entrepreneurs avoid failure.
They’re built because entrepreneurs stay in the experiment long enough to find success.
Imagine someone guaranteed you a 99.8% chance of reaching your business goals if you simply:
Would you commit?
Most people would.
Yet that’s exactly what mastery requires.
It needs better experimentation.
Stop asking:
“Why isn’t this working?”
Start asking:
“Have I actually given this strategy a fair experiment?”
That single question can completely change the trajectory of your business.
Success isn’t built by trying everything.
It’s built by committing deeply to one skill, getting consistent feedback, and staying in the experiment long enough to collect real evidence.
